'If It's Football, It's Vital'

De Vries Delighted With His Performance

Dorus De Vries said he was delighted with his performance during last night's 1-0 victory at Watford.

The Dutch goalkeeper was angry with himself after Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest. He made a rare error which led to their injury-time winning goal, but he was delighted when he returned to his usual best at Vicarage Road.

He maintained his 20th clean sheet of the season last night as he targets Roger Freestone's record of 22 - which he achieved when we won promotion in 1999/2000.

De Vries said:

'It was a sweet victory away from home, 1-0 and another clean sheet and a great team effort so a big hand for the guys,'

'They were giving us all sorts of balls inside the box and playing at a high pace, but we responded very well with a great goal from Kuqi.

'I was delighted with my saves, especially after the loss to Forest - you want to be there when your team needs you.'
