MacKay & His Players Frustrated After Swans Defeat

MacKay & His Players Frustrated After Swans Defeat

Watford boss Malky Mackay said he and his players were left frustrated after they lost 1-0 to Swansea City at home last night.

The first half was excellent 45 minutes of football, played at a fast pace with chances being created at both ends of the pitch. The Swansea defence were tested early on before we got in our stride and create 3 good chances, and Kuqi then nodded home to net the winning goal.

Watford looked to respond before half time with an equaliser and they piled on the pressure. De Vries was forced to make some fine saves to keep us in front and our defence held firm to hang on to the victory.

MacKay thought his side made enough chances to win the game:

'I'm frustrated after that, just like my players,''

'With the amount of chances we created we deserved something, if not all three points.

'That's as good as we have played in the first half. We peppered their area and the keeper made a great save to deny Jon Harley.

'We've got to win as many games as we can between now and the end of the season.

'There are a lot of points up for grabs and if we play like that the ball will drop for us and we will score goals.'

Swansea City now host struggling Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday at the Liberty Stadium as they look to close the gap on the top 3.
