Gower: Forest Defeat Won't Affect Us
Mark Gower said Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest will not affect the Swans as we continue our search for a top 6 finish in the Championship this season.
Paulo Sousa's side were just 3 minutes away from extending their unbeaten run in 2010 and keeping their 20th clean sheet of the season but we conceded a late headed goal from a corner that shouldn't have been given due to offside.
The Swans camp were fuming after the game, not only because they conceded a late goal, but due to more poor decisions from the match officials. Darren Pratley called it 'embarrassing' when his claims for a penalty were ignored in the second half.
Despite the defeat against a team who have now moved to 2nd from 3rd, Mark Gower says the loss won't affect our push for a top 6 finish this season:
'I don't think it [losing at Forest] will affect us,'
'It's not like we went there and played badly, we dug in and if it wasn't for a couple of decisions we could have come away with a win.
'There were a lot of positives to come out of that game and hopefully we can take them into Tuesday night.'
Swansea City will be looking to bounce back on Tuesday night when we visit Watford and Mark Gower believes it'll be another tough game for the Swans:
'It will be a tough game,'
'Watford's pitch isn't one of the greatest for passing but we have shown we can mix it the other way by scrapping and getting the three points that way and hopefully we can get a result.'
