Could Bodde Return In Place of Allen?

Ferrie Bodde is being tipped for a surprise return on Saturday as Paulo Sousa will be without key midfield players Joe Allen and Andrea Orlandi.

Both Allen and Orlandi picked up injuries away at Derby County last weekend and it's speculated that they could spend up to 6 weeks on the sidelines.

Sousa is struggling in midfield but Leon Britton could help us overcome that problem if he recovers from a recent back injury.

Ferrie Bodde would be the biggest boost though as there's talk in the media that he could make his first League start in 5 months.

The Dutchman was an unused substitute last week at Derby and has only played 60 minutes in a Reserves game since picking up another knee injury in September. A place in the starting eleven would seem unlikely but manager Paulo Sousa has recently said that the 27 year-old is fit and ready to play.

Fellow Dutchman Cedric Van Der Gun is also in contention for a return after being sidelined since the beginning of the year. So too is striker Craig Beattie.
