Jenkins Calls For Fans To Sell Out Home Games
Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins is calling out for fans to sell out the Liberty Stadium every game to give the players 'the support they deserve'.
Jenkins says the club should be selling out tickets for every game considering where are in the Championship table this season. However, our average attendance is only around 15,000 - more than 4,000 less than an sell-out.
'When you consider what the players and Paulo (Sousa) have done this season, our stadium should be full every week,'
'If we are going to get the recognition we deserve as a club, and if we are going to keep moving forward, we want to see a full house every time we play at home.
'This is nothing to do with finances.
'I'm talking about what our players and management deserve, and that is to be walking out in front of 18,000 or 19,000 every week.
'It would be great for the players because of the atmosphere a big crowd generates, and it would also be good for the perception of our club.'
It's a fair and valid point from our chairman. He told the Evening Post yesterday that the club is ready for the Premier League. We have a great chance of getting there as we're currently in a play-off position, but we'd need to get much higher attendances if we were to reach the top flight.
