Johnstone's Paint Trophy!

Johnstone's Paint Trophy!

The Football League has agreed a 3 year sponsorship deal with Johnstone's Paint that's worth a 7-figure fee.

The Johnstone's Paint Trophy, I thought it was a windup at first!

I'm hoping we won't have to defend the trophy next season as Championship clubs are not entered into the competition that we won in April!

'This is excellent news and provides a real end-of-season boost for League clubs,' said League chairman Lord Mawhinney.

'All supporters want to see their club competing for silverware and the Johnstone's Paint Trophy gives clubs from Leagues One and Two a cup competition that realistically they can win.'

A 7-figure fee for 3 years is very good for that competition. Pity we wont see a penny as this years winners.
