Bodde Scores As Reserves Win 2-1

Ferrie Bodde returned to Reserves action today and his goal helped us to a 2-1 win against Bristol City at the Gnoll.

The Dutchman, who has suffered two long periods on the sidelines since November 2008, netted the first goal after 23 minutes, slotting the ball into the bottom from just outside the box.

Henry Muggeridge put the scores level again 9 minutes into the second half but Austrian striker Besian Idrizaj got the winner for Colin Pascoe's side with a curling shot from 20 yards.

Ferrie Bodde suffered a serious knee ligament injury in November 2008 and he made a full recovery in August 2009, but he quickly suffered a recurrence of the same injury in his first League game in 10 months.

It was devasting news for the highly-rated midfielder and there were even concerns about his career, but the 27 year-old has been determined to return to action and put his injury setbacks behind him.

He could feature in a League game before the end of the season providing his recovery continues to go well. He played 59 minutes in today's match and came off unscathed.
