Allen: Keeping Key Trio Is A Major Boost

Joe Allen says managing to hang on to key players Angel Rangel, Darren Pratley and Leon Britton is a 'major boost'.

Swansea City received interest in all three players in January's transfer window but chairman Huw Jenkins managed to fend off offers from Wigan Athletic and Fulham, who enquired about loaning Leon Britton and Angel Rangel respectively. Fellow Championship side Nottingham Forest also made a 7-figure bid for Darren Pratley which was rejected.

Joe Allen told the Official Site:

'It's a major boost,'

'They're three of our key players, no doubt about it, and it's fantastic news for the squad and the club that they are still here.

'It was very nice to come in to training and still see them here and it's only going to help us as we push on towards the end of the season.'

'They're fantastic players,'

'I've been blessed to have trained and played with them which has helped me so much in my development.

'I really enjoy playing with them; they have fantastic ability and could definitely play at the highest level.'

Angel Rangel created a stir and did himself no favours with Huw Jenkins after telling the local press that the Swansea City chairman denied him a chance to join Premiership side, Fulham. Jenkins responded, saying he got the facts about their interest in him completely wrong.
