Dobbie Joins Blackpool On Loan

Stephen Dobbie has completed a loan move to Blackpool until the end of the season.

The Swansea City striker has hardly played a League game since joining the club on a free last Summer from Queen of the South and the Scot will be delighted to go out for much needed first team experience.

He'll join another Championship club looking to win a play-off place this season, and the loan move could lead to a permanent one in the Summer if he impresses Ian Holloway.

Despite speculation suggesting that the Swans are looking to release him permanently in the Summer, both Dobbie and chairman Huw Jenkins have dismissed the idea.

Dobbie told the Official Site that he's looking to return and be more involved next season:

'I've enjoyed my time so far in Swansea, although I would have obviously like to have played more,''

'The fans have been fantastic with me. Unfortunately I've had a few injuries which means they haven't seen the real me.

'But this is only a loan deal and I intend to come back to Swansea next season to prove my worth.

'There were a few clubs in for me on loan, a couple in Scotland and England. But Blackpool appealed to me because I want to prove I can play in the Championship.

'Hopefully I can help Blackpool get into the play-offs - along with Swansea.''


Huw Jenkins also added:

'I can't stress enough that this move is only a loan deal - and nothing more.

'Stephen is a valued member of our squad and our future. He needs games under his belt and he will be back with us in the summer.''
