Swansea City Stay In 5th Place In Championship

Swansea City Stay In 5th Place In Championship

Swansea City aren't in action today as Watford's undersoil heating failed, so we'll round-up today's most important fixtures and see how this could affect our table position come 5pm.

Derby County have ended Nottingham Forest's long, impressive away unbeaten run as they won 1-0. Forest will stay 2nd today as they have a 5-point gap from 3rd, but West Brom have 2 games in hand.

Swansea City are currently in 5th, but 6 teams in the top 8 have games in hand over us.

West Brom face Sheffield United today in an important match at the Hawthorns between two sides who occupy play-off places. A win for the Blades would see us drop to 6th, and Blackpool will also be looking to get back up into the top 6 as they travel to Coventry City.

Leicester, who have two games in hand over us, face a tough game at home to League leaders Newcastle United.

Rivals Cardiff City host Doncaster Rovers.

Come back for further updates to this article throughout the afternoon.

UPDATE:

Cardiff City beat Doncaster Rovers 2-1 to extend their gap from the Swans to 3 points. Doncaster equalised after going a goal behind but the Bluebirds grabbed a late winner.

West Brom beat Sheffield United 3-1 to prevent them from moving up to the play-off places.

Blackpool drew 1-1 at Coventry City to stay 7th.
