Rangel Glad To Extend His Contract

Rangel Glad To Extend His Contract

Right back Angel Rangel will automatically extend his contract by a further year if he plays in tomorrow's match at Watford.

The Spaniard's current deal expires in June but it features a clause which automatically extends it by 12 months if he plays in half of our League games this season.

Rangel has been linked with a move to Celtic this month but he told the Evening Post that they were just rumours:

'I am comfortable here and I am happy so I am glad that I will have another year on my contract after my next appearance,'

'Swansea gave me my chance. I love this club and I think the club loves me as well.

'There has been speculation about Celtic being interested in me this month, but it was just a rumour.

'I have been quiet and I have been relaxed because I know I belong to Swansea City.'

Rangel has made the right back spot his own since arriving at the club for a very small fee in 2007 and it's a great boost for the club to see his extend his stay at the Liberty Stadium.
