Kuqi Move Unlikely Due To Agent's Demands

Kuqi Move Unlikely Due To Agent's Demands

It looks like Paulo Sousa will have to pursue other striker targets in this month's transfer window as a move for Shefki Kuqi looks highly unlikely.

Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins told the Evening Post that signing the Finland international 'will not happen'. Despite being willing to meet his wage demands, his agent is demanding a payment to set up the move.

'Paulo was keen on Kuqi,'

'But I looked into that option and sometimes what is demanded comes nowhere near what we are prepared to offer.

'As things stand, the move is not going to happen.'

Kuqi, 33, is currently playing for Koblenz in the German Second Division. He started his English playing career with Stockport County before joining Sheffield Wednesday in 2002. He also had spells with Ipswich Town, Blackburn Rovers, Crystal Palace and Fulham. He also has 58 caps for Finland and scored 7 goals for his country.

Jenkins added that Sousa is still looking to sign a striker:

'Paulo wants to get someone else in and we are still on the look-out for the right striker,'

'Perhaps when some players move around higher up, a couple of things will happen lower down.

'Some players who are not available at the moment could become available before the end of the month.'

what a waste of money he'd be, where's PS's connections abroad, he doesn't seem to know what a good player is

I'm totally baffled by this signing effort. Please, Paulo, wake up.
