Yeovil Boss Worked Hard To Re-Sign MacDonald

Yeovil Town boss Terry Skiverton said he worked hard to re-sign Shaun MacDonald on loan, after he fought off competition to secure his services once again.

The Wales under-21 midfielder was on loan at the League One side last year but his spell came to an end last month.

MacDonald is back at Huish Park as Glovers boss Skiverton was able to fight off competition from other clubs who also wanted to sign the youngster on loan.

He said:

'We had a lot of teams that were in and around us that came in for Shaun, and even a team that are in the play-offs at the moment, so it shows you the work that we're doing behind the scenes to get these players re-signed,"

"He's played fantastic for us. He's really enhanced his own reputation and by the time he went back, it seemed that every man, every club and his dog was trying to phone up to get him."

"So we've built that reputation with Shaun, and he knows me and Nathan Jones (assistant manager) from playing with us, and also he is very close to Darren Way, so that had a lot to do with him staying here as well,"

MacDonald made some first team appearances for the Swans at the start of the season as Paulo Sousa had a number of first team players out injured. He struggled to impress but he's gaining some much needed first team experience at Yeovil Town and has impressed a number of players and managers in League One.

Last year, he played in 12 League games for Yeovil, only 3 of which the Glovers lost. He also scored 2 goals.
