O'Driscoll & Laws Favourites For Burnley Job

O'Driscoll & Laws Favourites For Burnley Job

According to various sources, Sean O'Driscoll and Brian Laws are the top two names who Burnley are considering for their vacant manager's role.

Swansea City boss Paulo Sousa was linked with the position at the Premier League side but it looks like us fans can soon forget about any speculation linking our manager with a move away from the Liberty Stadium.

Fellow Championship side Doncaster Rovers could lose their manager though, as Sean O'Driscoll is being touted today as the Clarets main target to take over from Owen Coyle, who recently took over at Bolton Wanderers.

Sky Sports News 'understands' that O'Driscoll is planning to bring his assistant Richard O'Kelly to Turf Moor, while BBC Radio Sheffield have reported that the Irishman is on the verge of being named Burnley's new manager.

Brian Laws, sacked at the end of last year by Sheffield Wednesday was favourite amongst the bookies but it looks like O'Driscoll is the man to takeover a new challenge in the top flight with the Clarets.

Some Swansea City fans laughed off speculation recently of Sousa leaving for Burnley, but considering the other names that have been linked with the job, a move for Sousa to Turf Moor does seem quite realistic. Thankfully though, it looks increasingly likely that it'll be O'Driscoll and not Sousa leaving a Championship club this month.
