McGhee: Dobbie Signing Is A Possibility

Aberdeen boss Mark McGhee has revealed that he has enquired about the availability of striker Stephen Dobbie and says signing the Scot is a 'possibility'.

It's been reported that Swansea City are looking to loan him out this month with a permanent move in the Summer looking likely.

Scottish First Division side Dundee were also targeting Dobbie but they have ended their interest because his wages are too high to suit their budget.

When asked about Dobbie, McGhee said:

'I'm a fan of his and we have asked about his availability, and it is possible he could come here,'

'He's the type of player who is different from the type of strikers we have here already.'

Dobbie arrived on a free last summer from Queen of the South and it looked like he was going to take over from Jason Scotland as our main striker, but with a change in manager shortly after his arrival, he has struggled to fit in with Paulo Sousa's first team plans.

It'll be a shame to see him leave. He's not been given a fair chance here, one poor half of league football after some good goals in the cup and he's forgotten about.
