Bodde Could Soon Be Back In Full Training

Ferrie Bodde is set to return to Swansea this month following further rehab on his injured knee, and he could return to full training if everything goes to plan.

Providing the Dutch midfielder returns in good condition, he'll return to full training by the end of the month before targeting a return to action some time in the Spring.

The 27 year-old suffered a knee ligament injury in November 2008 which sidelined him for the rest of the 2008/2009 season. Following a lengthy recovery process, he was back in action in September 2009 but in his first League start in 10 months, he suffered the same injury and faced the same lengthy rehabilitation process.

There were fears his career was over but Bodde is determined to return to action and he could play a part later this season.

The Swans have learnt their lesson from last year though and the last thing they'll do now is rush him back.

Chairman Huw Jenkins said:

'Ferrie is coming back over in January and we will be having a look what stage he is at.

'We are going to assess his fitness and, if things go to plan, he will be back in full training this month.

'We have already given an indication that Ferrie could play again this season, but at this stage we wouldn't say any more than that.'
