Paulo Sousa says David Cotterill has a lot more to offer to the team after his stunning strike in yesterday's FA Cup 3rd round defeat at Leicester City.
So far, since his loan move from Sheffield United, the young Welsh international hasn't been given many opportunities to prove his quality but he wasted no time when he was given only his second start for the Swans. After just 10 minutes, he put us in front with one of the best goals of the 3rd round, firing the ball into the top corner from 30 yards.
Paulo Sousa brought him to the Liberty Stadium for that sort of quality in midfield and he explained why he hasn't featured too often in the first team:
"It was a great strike and we want to improve our goals outside the box.
"He (Cotterill) had a slow start with us but he needed to understand our style and movement and some players take a little bit more time.
"But we know what he can do for us and we keep helping him to help the team.
"It`s disappointing to lose because all the games are important for me.
"I`m unhappy we did not win the game."![]()
