Pearson's Reaction To FA Cup Win

Pearson's Reaction To FA Cup Win

Nigel Pearson shared his thoughts after his Leicester City side knocked Swansea City out of the FA Cup.

Today's match panned out in similar fashion to the League clash on the opening day of the season. Swansea City enjoyed a better first half period and opened the scoring after 10 minutes thanks to a superb long range strike from David Cotterill.

But Leicester got to grips with our style of play and upped the tempo in the second half and pushed us higher up the pitch. Substitutes did the damage again as N'Guessan came on to score the winner in the 89th minute.

Pearson said:

'I always emphasise it is a squad game and I thought the substitutes did very well for us when they came on.

'Paul Gallagher was excellent when he went on and of course our French connection did very well when they went on.

'It's nice to have players like that to put on when you want to do something different.

'It was a tough game. We were better in the second half after we had got to grips with their system.

'They are a decent side and we had to change somewhat to win the game.

'We had to press them higher in the pitch to affect the quality of their passing.'
