Martinez Linked With Walsall Move

Vital Walsall are reporting today that there are rumours linking Martinez with a move back to his former club.

It's no surprise really. Our club captain has been messed about this year to say the least.

The Spanish midfielder has been promised talks over a contract extension but with no news of a new deal and him constantly being dropped, I very much doubt he'll be with us next season, which ever league we are in.

He's been a great servant to the club since he joined us 3 years ago and has been a top professional in that time.

I think it would be best for him to move on to pastures new if we get to the Championship but I feel he's been harshly dealt with this year, not because he's been dropped but because the club have not kept their word and started talks over a new contract.

Whether or not this is a strong rumour or not, I honestly think Martinez would consider a return to Walsall.

This certainly would not be a shock move. It seems like the board dont want to extend his contract.

Martinez has been brilliant for us. He was the biggest influence on saving us from the drop, we should give him a coaching role.

yeah thats an idea hillo!id love to see him as our midfeild coach oh and by the wayon the talk of coaches we should try and persuade ante raikovic to train our defense to be as fearless as he was!!

If he's offered a coaching role that would just tie up the wage bill , on times he's not even been on the bench so i'd let him go .
