Swansea City Release Defender Abu Bakr

Swansea City have decided not to offer defender Radanfah Abu Bakr a long term deal and have released the Trinidad & Tobago international.

The 22 year-old joined the club on a short-term deal at the end of August but since then he hasn't featured once in the senior squad.

Chairman Huw Jenkins said Paulo Sousa has decided to look at other players who could play in the first team:

'Radanfah's deal finishes at the end of the month and we will not be offering him anything,'

'He is a young boy who was brought in on a long-term trial basis.

'I think he has enjoyed his time here, but Paulo (Sousa) has to look for players who will challenge for places in his first team and, at this stage, Radanfah is not ready for that.'
