Simpson: Newcastle Are Flying

Newcastle United defender Danny Simpson sounds in confident mood as shares his views on tomorrow's match against Swansea City at St James' Park.

Simpson told the Shields Gazette that he didn't realise how high up Swansea City were in the Championship table - 4th thanks to our 11-game unbeaten run.

'They've got to come here and take us on

'We're back at home, and we'll be looking to play the same sort of football we did against Peterborough.

'I didn't realise until I looked at the table recently how well Swansea were doing. They're up there' but we're at home and buzzing with even more confidence.

'It was a tough away win at Preston and now we need to back that up. Swansea have had a couple of extra days rest, but the main thing is we are flying at the moment.

'Now we have four wins on the bounce, and earlier in the season we had five, so, hopefully, we can repeat that.'

Newcastle have yet to lose at home in 8 League games this season, and they have won 6 of them, conceding only 4.

Paulo Sousa's side face a tough task in being the first team to win at St James' Park but like the Magpies, they'll also be in confident mood.

The Swans are 11 games unbeaten and recently beat West Brom 1-0 away at the Hawthorns, so they'll fancy their chances away against another team who are strong favourites for the title.
