Cotterill Signing To Be Confirmed 'Later Today'

Cotterill Signing To Be Confirmed 'Later Today'

Swansea City have confirmed via the Official Site that they expect to confirm the loan signing of Sheffield United winger David Cotterill.

The Swans are just waiting for the loan paperwork to be processed.

The move seems to be 99% certain, with both Paulo Sousa and David Cotterill himself talking about his move to South Wales.

Sousa told Wales Online:

"The loan market has given us a great opportunity to add to our squad,''

"The fact that David is young, Welsh, and already a senior international is a bonus. It means we have another Welshman within our ranks with the characteristics we are looking for.

"He has the attributes I expect from a player in his position. He brings quality and different characteristics to the squad that will help us improve.''

Cotterill revealed that a few clubs showed an interest in him, but he knows he's made the right choice in joining the Swans:

"I need to be playing, especially at this stage of my career. I've also got my place in the international team to consider as well and it's a very important time.

"I realise I need to get more consistency into my game and hopefully I can do that by playing more.

"I've played against Swansea a few times and watched them against Derby on Friday night. They play great football.

"A few clubs were interested in me, but I've made the right decision."
