'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Tate: Beating Cardiff City Was Priceless!

Alan Tate said Saturday's home win against Cardiff City was the best he's ever experienced at Swansea City.

The former Manchester United defender was captain for the day with the absence of Garry Monk, who suffered a recurrence of his recent ankle injury.

Alan Tate told the Evening Post that he couldn't put a price on Saturday's experience, saying it was an even better than beating Hull City 4-2 back in 2003 to stay in the Football League.

'Money can't buy the way I'm feeling after that victory,'

'It's the best feeling in the world. I can't even begin to do it justice.

'Nothing has come close to it, not even the Hull game.

'It was my best Swansea victory, without a doubt.'

Tate showed exactly what the goals meant to him during the game. Dyer opened the scoring and Pratley scored twice, and the centre back showed off his emotions, punching the air and pointing to the SCFC badge on his shirt. Those actions have even prompted one bitter Cardiff City fan to write a letter to South Wales Police, pathetic!

Tate added:

'Everyone knows the history and rivalry between the (Cardiff) fans and myself,'

'They don't like me and I don't like them. That's how it goes in football derbies.

'But it's not just about that. We have real expectations to get into the play-offs and this was another three points towards that.

'We'll be working hard during the international break to make sure we are well equipped to go on another run of 10 unbeaten.'
