Unlucky McLeod Breaks Ankle

Kevin McLeod's chances of saving his Swansea career have been hit with a major blow after breaking his ankle in Saturday's game against Southend.

He was given hope by Kenny Jackett when he was given starting places in the previous 2 games. All was going well on Saturday until 8 minutes from the end when he recieved a bad tackle which means he'll be out for 6 weeks.

He was having a good game as he tried to prove to the manager that he should be kept on.

We had the right balance in midfield and he provided some much needed width on the left flank, something we haven't had for a few months now.

Club Physio Richard Evans said:

'Kevin looks to have chipped a bone and he's in plaster,'

'We need to have another look at it, but he's probably looking at six weeks out.'

yee i fink he had a brill game untill he broke his ankle =(

Such a shame and a bad break on both counts. At least he has the summer to get fighting fit and ready for next year.

He must be gutted though that he can't do anymore to prove that he should be kept on. He played well Saturday but he seems to only play well when it really matters, he did well in front of the sky cameras against Huddersfield and is doing well now, but for months he played poorly. He needs to be more consistent if he's kept on, he has the potential but too often he's lazy.
