'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Allen Can't Stop Thinking About Ninian Park Goal

Joe Allen can't forget about the goal he scored against Cardiff City at Ninian Park last season and the young midfielder now says it's our turn to have some luck.

The Welsh under-21s international scored a superb individual goal in April to put Swansea City 2-1 in front with just a few minutes left. Thinking he had scored the winner in a thrilling match, he was denied by a shocking penalty decision by referee Mike Dean as the game ended in a 2-2 draw.

Allen said:

'What happened still crosses my mind,'

'When my goal went in I thought it was meant to be, I thought it was my day. But the celebrations only lasted a couple of minutes because of that penalty.

'It was a shocking decision. I don't think I've seen or heard anyone say any different.

'Hopefully, after that, the luck will be on our side this time.

'We will have to do our bit, obviously, but hopefully things will go for us this weekend.'

As ever, the South Wales derby match on Saturday at the Liberty Stadium is set to be a cracker. With Swansea City's strong defence and Cardiff's potent attack, it'll be another interesting and enthralling game.

Joe Allen believes that it's a good time to play Cardiff City:

'I think it's a good time for us to be playing them since we're coming into the game off the back of a nine-game unbeaten run.

'The way we play, we can sometimes not get the goals we deserve, but at Scunthorpe we scored two and might easily have had a couple more.'
