McPhail & Chopra To Miss Derby Game

McPhail & Chopra To Miss Derby Game

Cardiff City will be without Michael Chopra and Stephen McPhail for Saturday's derby match at the Liberty Stadium.

Chopra is out due to a suspension after already picking up five yellow cards this season, while McPhail, who has a habit of getting sent off against the Swans, is out with a thigh injury.

Bothroyd is also set to have treatment and if his doubtful to be fit to feature in the derby match.

Chopra told BBC Sport that he's 'gutted' to miss out:

'They are the games you want to play in,'

'To miss a game against Swansea means so much to me.'

'The team's not about one player, There are a lot of players ready to take people's places.

'We've got good players on the bench waiting to come in. The main thing is we've just got to go there and play our normal game, and play football and not the occasion.

'Hopefully we can get the three points.'

Alan Tate and Angel Rangel avoided bookings during Saturday's 2-0 away win at Scunthorpe so they'll both be available and most likely to start in defence. Both are one card away from 1 match bans.

McPhail wouldn't have made a difference and Chopra would've never scored against our defence.
