Sousa Happy But Still Room For Improvement

Swansea City manager Paulo Sousa was pleased with his side's performance yesterday but believes there is still room for improvement.

The Swans extended their unbeaten run to 9 games with a comfortable 2-0 victory at Scunthorpe United.

Craig Beattie opened the scoring in the first half direct from a 25-yard free-kick before Van Der Gun added a second late on.

Sousa said:

'It was never going to be an easy game for us up here,''

'Scunthorpe have a good home record with wins over the likes of Sheffield United and Newcastle, two big teams.

'You could see they wanted to go into the game full of motivation to continue that form and bounce back from their defeat to Manchester City in midweek.

'But we stamped our identity on the game early on and made it very difficult for them.

'In fact, we controlled most of the game and even stepped it up when we needed to.

'I've got to be happy with the performance and victory because we dominated a lot.

'But we can still improve. We created a lot of possibilities, we need to take better decisions in the last moment. Today we scored two, but we can still score more.

'That is something we will work to improve and we can learn a lot from today for the future.''
