Gower: It's The Toughest Game Of The Season

Mark Gower says tonight's game at West Brom will be their toughest of the season so far.

Roberto Di Matteo, linked with the vacant manager's job at Swansea in the Summer, has guided the Baggies to the top of the Championship table as they look to bounce straight back up to the Premier League.

Gower told the Evening Post:

'It's the toughest game we've had,'

'Middlesbrough looked a strong side when they came down here at the start of the season, but you've got to remember that West Brom went to Boro and won 5-0.

'They are top of the league at the moment and whoever are top are the best side in the division at that time.

'West Brom have a lot of good players and a strong squad and they look like they can score all kinds of goals.

'Having said that, we are going into the game with a lot of confidence.

'We were well below our standards when we played Boro, but now we're six games unbeaten and things are starting to gel under the new manager.

'We have all talked about the departures in the summer and we suffered a few defeats early on in what was a transitional period for the club. But we are playing much more as a team than we were, and I think we have come through the other side of that now.'
