Sousa Happy With Draw At Ipswich

Paulo Sousa said he was pleased with his side's draw at Ipswich Town today.

Craig Beattie scored his first goal since joining the Swans from West Brom after just 7 minutes, but Pablo Counago, a Summer target for Swansea, responded with an equaliser just 8 minutes later.

Sousa's team made a great start and performed well in the first half but they struggled to keep the momentum going in the second period. Beattie's blocked shot was the only notable chance we had, while at the other end De Vries was called into action on a number of occasions.

Sousa said:

'I'm proud of my players. Ipswich have a fantastic squad and they will not be in this position for long.

They can be near the top at the end of the season, so I'm happy with the draw.

'I thought we controlled the game in the first half, and could have scored more goals, but we were not as direct as I would have hoped in the second half.'
