Lopez Hopes To Face His Former Club QPR

Jordi Lopez is hoping to face his former club QPR on Saturday as we host Jim Magilton's side at the Liberty Stadium.

Lopez, along with Nathan Dyer served one-match bans in the midweek draw at Doncaster Rovers after picking up two yellow cards in last week's win against Sheffield United.

Paulo Sousa also comes up against his previous club, having left Loftus Road in April after he revealed that a player left on loan without him knowing.

There have even been reports in the T of Flavio Briatore contacting QPR from 6,500 miles away last season to request a substitute during a match. No idea if it is true or not, but it doesn't look good amongst his Formula 1 Grand Prix race-fixing at Renault - resulting in his sacking from the company.

Back to Saturday's game then, Lopez told the Official Site:

'It was the first game I looked for when the fixtures came out,''

'I marked it down on the calendar straight away. I'm really looking forward to it.

'The three or four months I spent at QPR were really positive for me. They gave me the opportunity to play in English football and I will always be grateful to them for that.

'I had the opportunity to stay there, but I felt it was a better opportunity for me to come to Swansea and work with Paulo again.

'When Paulo spoke to me about the project he had at Swansea City, I liked what he had to say. It felt like the right move for me.''

Gorka Pintado will miss the game as he serves a one-match ban. Leon Britton, Cedric Van Der Gun and Andrea Orlandi will all have fitness tests.

he'll definitely play i'm sure, and hopefully he'll put in his best performance of the season for us against his former club. he needs to start to prove his quality because i'm sure he has it, he's just not showing any glimpse of it
