Sousa Proud Again After First Home Win

Paulo Sousa said he was proud again of his team after they won their first League home game of the season against Sheffield United.

Substitutes Lee Trundle and Tom Butler got the all-important goals in the second half to give us a much needed victory.

Sousa said:

'We have had a lot of difficulties (injuries and suspensions) since the beginning of the season, but I believe we have grown as a team because of it.

'I was really proud again of the attitude, spirit and character the players displayed out there.

'We were playing against a very difficult team to beat. They are a strong side and we need to be very proud.

'We have a lot of belief and confidence in the work we do and we will keep building day by day.''

'Lee (Trundle) gave me the penalty, the goal and a lot of hard work.

'Tom (Butler) is very direct and always likes to try and find the back of the net. He scored a very good goal today.

'But it's not about individuals, it's about the team and I am very proud of them all.''

The Swans ended the game with just 9 men as Jordi Lopez and Nathan Dyer picked up two bookings - proving again that we need to sort out our lack of discipline to minimise player suspensions.

Sousa added:

'I have no complaints. They could have been avoided, but playing with emotion sometimes these things happen.''
