Pintado Given 1 Match Ban By FAW

As you could expect from the FAW, who are never quick to help the Swans, they have given striker Gorka Pintado an extra one-match ban after getting sent off in a Carling Cup defeat at home to Scunthorpe.

The Spaniard was one of three Swans players that night to be shown red after an extraordinary evening at the Liberty Stadium.

Pintado picked up his second booking late on in the game when he made a sliding challenge. He was furious with the decision, and threw a water bottle at the ground in frustration.

The FAW gave him the ban for not leaving the field of play quick enough - and not for misconduct.

A Swansea City spokesman said:

'We put forward a very good case and the FAW gave us a fair hearing.

'Our case must have been very strong because the charges relating to improper conduct normally carry a two-match ban and a hefty fine.'

And I'd put money on the FAW letting Card*ff off the hook with McPhail's red card in midweek. One rule for them, another for the rest of the league.
