Sousa Could Ring The Changes Tonight

Paulo Sousa could make a number of changes for tonight's game against Bristol City as he looks for only his second League win in 7 games.

The Swansea City boss is beginning to get ruthless with his team and he says that players with 'fewer opportunities to play need to leave. This needs to happen.'

He has a squad of 36 players now, following the signings at the end of the transfer window, but ideally he wants 25 or 26, which means deciding which 10 players to release.

Alan Tate said after Saturday's defeat that Sousa told the team that there's no room for complacency, and if you don't perform to his standards you're out.

According to today's Evening Post, Sousa may decide to make changes at each outfield position.

Marcos Painter might be dropped in place of Fede Bessone, while Leon Britton could be left out as Joe Allen is set to make a return. Jordi Lopez might also get dropped in place of Ferrie Bodde.

Up front, Lee Trundle is unable to face his current club so Craig Beattie is expected to return to the starting line-up after struggling recently with a chest infection.

Cedric Van Der Gun could also make his home debut in place of Mark Gower on the left wing.

He's going to drop Britton for players who are only just coming back from injury? Hope not

I think Sousa will bring in Allen and Beattie personally. i dont think he'll rush Bodde back after a long time out.

allen has only been injured a few weeks so i say give him a shot, we have fallen apart since the 30 min we played well before he got injured at leicester.

Well it'll be good to see certain people actually earning their places rather than purely on reputation but lets win a few first. Besides next season Prem teams have to chop numbers too, so 25 men will have to happen if we went up.
