Van Der Gun Happy To Complete Swans Move

Van Der Gun Happy To Complete Swans Move

Cedric Van Der Gun had his first interview today after completing his switch to Swansea City.

The 30 year-old winger, who can also play as an attacker, put pen to paper this morning on a 1-year contract with the option of a further 12 months.

Van Der Gun is a highly anticipated signing for the club, having played a vital role for FC Utrecht last season. He was a free agent and was able to join us outside the transfer window as he looks forward to a new challenge in the English Football League.

Van Der Gun told Real Radio that he was happy to finally complete the move to South Wales:

'The move took a couple weeks, but I'm really happy now that I can finally play football.'

'There were some other teams interested, so that's a bit of reason why it took a little bit longer.'

'I really wanted to go to England at some time, it's a really nice League. I knew Dorus and Ferrie very well, and they told me some good stories about Swansea.'

'I'm really ambitious, I'm glad to play for this team and I'll do the best. I'm a player with speed and I hope I can bring a lot of quality to the team.'

The former Ajax and Borussia Dortmund player is now available for selection on Saturday as Paulo Sousa's side travel to Preston North End.
