Swansea To Sign Liverpool Youngster On Loan?

According to the Mirror, Swansea City are set to sign Liverpool youngster Stephen Darby on a three month loan.

The 20 year-old is the Reds Reserve team captain and he's looking for some valuable first team experience to help boost his career at Anfield.

Darby is a right-back and if the reports are true, then he'd add cover to Angel Rangel who's currently got another two games to serve on his suspension.

The Mirror also says that Paulo Sousa wanted to sign Darby permanently, but he's looking to progress with the Premiership side, having signed a new 3-year contract in July.

The news has yet to be confirmed by the club so we'll have to wait until it's official, as the Mirror have never been the best of sources. On Friday they reported that we had signed Cedric Van Der Gun, but there's still been no official announcement of his free transfer to the Swans.

Darby has also been included in Liverpool's Champions League squad, so a loan move to Swansea City seems unlikely.

i think its strange we are going in for a right back on loan tbh, because i can't see him getting past Rangel. a short term mesure as cover till january perhaps? i think the writing is on the wall for Matty Collins.

Im not saying he is'nt mate, but in my opinion Rangel is one of the best right backs in the country. nothing against the Liverpool lad but Angel is pure class. if he can push Rangel for a starting place ill be over the moon but i can't see it.
