Swans On International Duty

New Signing Radanfah Abu Bakr was on international duty with Trinidad and Tobago last night as they lost 4-1 against Hondurus.

The 22 year-old defender played the full 90 minutes in their World Cup Qualifier while midfielder Shaun MacDonald also captained the Wales under-21 team who brilliantly beat giants Italy 2-1 at the Liberty Stadium.

Ashley Williams has been called up to John Toshack's senior Wales squad as they face Russia in a crucial World Cup qualifier on Wednesday night. Shaun MacDonald has also earned himself his first call-up to the side.

Swansea City meanwhile are still waiting for news on whether or not Dutch left winger Cedric Van Der Gun is going to sign a contract with the club. Reports in Holland have linked the 30 year-old with a move to the Liberty Stadium while the Mirror have reported he has signed, but there's been no official mention yet from the club about where they stand with van der Gun. The transfer window closed last week but we can still sign him as he's a free agent.

well done to shaun macdonald, hopefully richards and thomas can play soon for the u21s

I think a few of our youngsters are pushing for a place in the U-21s Richards, Thomas, Morgan, Bond, Cornell. not to mention the already established players at that level like allen and maca. its a good sign that our prodution line is up and running again. and shows what a good job Curtis and Pennock are doing at youth and intermediate levels. with the addition of us hopefully reaching acadamy status in a year or two it can onley be good for both welsh football and the swans.
