New Scout To Look At Two Potential Targets

New Scout To Look At Two Potential Targets

New Chief Scout Lil Fuccillo is set to look at two potential targets that we could be looking to sign when the loan window opens next week.

The 53 year-old, who joined Swansea City yesterday as our new scout from Newcastle United is set to have talks with manager Paulo Sousa and chairman Huw Jenkins about recruitment plans and finances.

He also told the Evening Post that he's going to set up a network of scouts to assess the opposition, as well as look for new players.

'Defensively we're looking at things and then like everyone, we want a striker that scores 50 goals a season,'

'I'm going to meet with the chairman to discuss finances so we can see what we can do.'

'I left Newcastle because there's so much turmoil,'

'I could probably have stayed there and earned more money, but it's never been about money with me — it's about the job.

'There was instability, I didn't know what was happening from one week to the next.

'I watched Swansea play at Coventry and they were a joy to watch. I couldn't believe how much football they played and in every area.

'I had 10 years under David Pleat at Luton when we played great football and Paulo seems to have the same philosophy.

'That was a big factor in me joining. Paulo was a great player in his time, he's still a young man and he's got good ideas.'

'I've already got one person in place in the south to scout some of our matches,'

'We have to make sure we get the right players for Swansea, we don't want to be putting square pegs in round holes.'

As well as a lack of signings earlier on in August, the fans were also concerned that we hadn't replaced Kevin Reeves, who did a fantastic job in helping Roberto Martinez to sign quality players for low transfer fees.

The managerial team is finally complete now as chief scout Lil Fuccillo was the missing piece in the jigsaw.
