Swansea City Appoint New Chief Scout

Swansea City Appoint New Chief Scout

Swansea City have appointed Newcastle United's chief scout Lil Fuccillo, which finally completes the Managerial Team.

The Swans have had to re-build the entire backroom staff as Manager Roberto Martinez and his assistant Graeme Jones joined Wigan Athletic, along with goalkeeper coach Inaka Bergara, physio Richie Evans and chief scout Kevin Reeves.

Fuccillo, a former Luton and Peterborough United player will take the position immediately at the Liberty Stadium and will help with player recruitment and match scouting.

Chairman Huw Jenkins said:

'[Fuccillo's] appointment is the missing link we've been trying to fill,'

'To secure the services of someone with Lil's knowledge, experience, contacts and network of scouts is a massive plus for the club,'

'He will work closely with [manager] Paulo [Sousa] on player recruitment and match scouting.

'We realise the importance of the role and it was crucial we brought in the right person for the job.'

Fuccillo has also scouted at Everton and Leicester City.
