Monk: Trundle Can Win Us Games
Swansea City captain Garry Monk believes Lee Trundle can be a success in his second spell at the club.
The Bristol City frontman completed a 4-month loan move to the Liberty Stadium and he's available for selection in Saturday's home match against Watford.
Chairman Huw Jenkins ruled out a return for the scouser at the end of July but in a sensational twist, he's back at the club on loan.
Some fans have doubts that he can re-produce the sort of form that made him such a fans' favourite in a superb 4-year spell between 2003-2007, but Monk is confident that he can win us games, he told the Evening Post:
'Trunds has got the quality. Trunds has been a great player for this club in the past — I don't see any reason why he couldn't do it for us again.
'With the qualities he possesses he can win games.
'I'm not sure of his fitness and what condition he is in — he hasn't played much competitively over the past two years.
'With Trunds, when he is at a decent level that is when he can show his stuff.
'When he scored 20-odd goals in one season for us it was the best pre-season he had.'
Lee Trundle will be joined at the club by Craig Beattie who has signed on a permanent basis from West Brom.
