Britton Aims For Carling Cup Progression

Britton Aims For Carling Cup Progression

Leon Britton says tomorrow's Carling Cup Second Round game against Scunthorpe is the perfect opportunity for the team to carry on the winning mentality.

The Swans won their first League game of the season on Saturday at Coventry City and we'll want to keep the wins coming with two home games this week.

We're back in Carling Cup action on Tuesday night as Scunthorpe arrive at the Liberty Stadium for the second round tie, and Britton says the team are keen to progress as far as they can in the competition.

'They (Scunthorpe) are going to be disappointed after losing heavily at Sheffield Wednesday but it's all about us,'

'If we carry on with the standards we have shown at Coventry and last week against Reading we will start getting more wins on the board - starting against Scunthorpe on Tuesday.'

'We had good runs in both cups last year and it's something that can give you a huge confidence boost.

'We want to carry on the winning mentality and it all starts again this Tuesday.

'It may only be a cup game but we want to win it and go as far as we can this in competition.'

Swansea City reached the 4th round of the League Cup last year and we'll be aiming to match that this season, with hopefully a tie later on against Cardiff City or Wigan Athletic - the two clubs top of the fans' wanted list!
