Bodde Could Sign New Contract Says Agent

Ferrie Bodde's agent has told News of the World that it's a possibility that he could sign a new contract with Swansea City.

The Dutchman's future at the Liberty Stadium is in doubt once more however following interest from Premiership sides Bolton Wanderers and Wigan Athletic.

Bolton have ended their interest after we rejected their final £3.5m bid, while Wigan have also had a offer instantly turned down.

Bodde's agent, Frank Schouten said his client will not hand in a transfer request in order to join Martinez at Wigan, he said:

'Ferrie will not hand in a transfer request, I can promise you that. He will only leave if the chairman decides to accept Wigan's offer.'

'The talks have gone well. There's a good possibility Ferrie will sign a new contract at Swansea because he's happy there.'

Bodde has been out of action since November 2008 after suffering a knee injury but Sousa says he's back in full training next week and will return to action in September. Joe Allen should also return in a fortnight or so.

i think swan4eva's point is why offer him a contract when he'll probably be off in january, and he's not loyal, we should be offering britton a new deal.
GThomas
Longer contract bigger fee don't think he would sign if he was planning a move in Jan though
