Richards Aiming To Be A Squad Regular

After making his senior debut for the club on Saturday, Jazz Richards says he's aiming to be a regular in the matchday squad.

The 18 year-old came on for the last half hour in the 3-0 home defeat to Middlesbrough on the weekend and he now wants to be a regular in the 18-man matchday squad.

It'll prove to be difficult to meet those aims later in the season when the likes of Darren Pratley and Ferrie Bodde are back but the midfielder says he's always sets high targets for himself, Richards told the Evening Post:

'It was great to hear my name on the Tannoy. It was brilliant to get my debut, especially against a side like Middlesbrough.

'They are a class team who have just come down from the Premier League, and it was great to be out there.

'It was a dream to come on for Swansea City and even though the result was not what we wanted, I still enjoyed it.'

'He has given all the youngsters a good chance and it is pleasing that we are doing well,'

'There are a few injuries in the team so I was ready to come in if needed.

'I came on and did the right things. The gaffer was happy with what I did.

'I've got to take positives from this game and train hard in the meantime to try and make the bench.

'I really want to be a regular in the matchday squad before the end of the season.

'I've always set high targets — that's the way I'm going to improve. It's worked for me so far.

Richards is sure to be on the bench again as Guillem Bauza looks set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
