Sousa: Loan Move For Midfielder 'Is Possible'

Sousa: Loan Move For Midfielder 'Is Possible'

Paulo Sousa says it's possible that he could sign a midfielder on loan before tomorrow's match against Reading.

The Swansea City boss has recognised that he needs to strengthen the midfield with the likes of Joe Allen, Darren Pratley, Ferrie Bodde and Jordi Lopez currently unavailable because of injury.

The Swans fans have been crying out for us to make some much-needed signings to improve the squad as we are missing last season's two main goalscorers - Jordi Gomez and Jason Scotland, who both joined former boss Roberto Martinez at Wigan Athletic.

Sousa remains upbeat and confident about his squad despite losing our first 2 games, he told Wales Online:

"It`s not urgent, but I`ve always said we need new players,"

"They are coming, I don`t doubt that.

"It`s possible we will now be getting a midfielder in on loan."

"I still believe in my players a lot and, when everyone is fit, we can be much better,"

"After what I saw out there, considering the difficulties we have at the moment, I need to be really confident and happy.

"Midfield is our strongest sector and, when everyone is back, the team will be a lot stronger.

"Things can be different and, if we had taken our chances, the result would have changed completely.

Sousa has also said for a while now that signing a striker is his priority and former Sheffield United frontman Danny Webber is the latest player to be linked with a move to the Swans, he's available on a free.
