Sousa: I Won't Destroy The Capital Of The Club

Paulo Sousa insists he won't put the club in financial difficulties to strengthen the squad.

The Swansea boss revealed that he agreed with the club when he joined that he'll continue our trends and our ways of spending money on transfer fees and player wages. He was happy to take over a club with limited resources and strict budgets in which he believes he can work with here at the Liberty Stadium.

The 38 year-old is keen to add new players to the team and he said yesterday that he expects this to happen within the next few days.

A striker has been his priority for a while now but it seems that a move for NEC target Jhon Van Beukering has been ruled out.

Today, Sousa says they will not spend 'crazy' money:

'I am not a manager who destroys the capital of the club,'

'I am not going to bring in seven or eight players and forget everything that has been done in the past — I agreed that with the chairman when I came here.

'Of course we need new players, I have said that, but I care about the club and I care about the squad and we will not go crazy.

'It's easy for a manager to spend £10 million or £20 million, but we can't spend like that and I'm not like that. I care about the future of the club.'
