Sousa Predicting A Difficult Start At Leicester

Paulo Sousa says he's predicting a difficult start to the season tomorrow when his side travel to the Walkers Stadium to take on Leicester City.

The Swansea City boss will take charge of his first competitive match since taking over as boss on June 23rd.

With just over 6 weeks of preparation during the Summer, Sousa says getting off to a winning start is one of the keys to success.

He told the official site:

'It will be a difficult game and we'll have to be at our best,'

'We will be going to a great environment, expecting to play in front of a large crowd against a typical English team.

'They are very strong in the air and have quick players in the channels.

'But with all the respect we have for our opponents, we want to play our game this weekend.

'There are a lot of key points in the season and the start is one. Starting well is one of the keys to being successful.'

Sousa also praised the fans after the full allocation of 3,136 tickets sold out on Wednesday afternoon.

A large crowd of 25,000 plus is expected and the 38 year-old added:

'It means a lot to me and my players knowing that our fans are behind us,'

'The players are delighted with the support and it's something we needed for the first game away from home.'

Quite a few of the players say it will be difficult, so at least we're not going to underestimate them or anything like that. We may keep things tight early on and play defensive, rather than chucking everything at them. I'd take a draw

I think the big thing is that Leicester will underestimate us
