Sousa Quiet On Striker Targets

Sousa Quiet On Striker Targets

Paulo Sousa remained tight-lipped when he was asked by BBC Sport on the various players that have been linked with a move to Swansea City.

'I think Guillem Bauza's Swansea days are over'
The back-to-back Champions League winner didn't want to talk about speculation and the likelihood of potential targets Jhon van Beukering, Marek Saganowski and Zak Whitbread joining the club, saying he'd rather announce any signings when a deal has been agreed.

BBC Sport Wales asked him about various targets and whether or not there was any truth in the names mentioned, but Sousa replied:

'I don't want to speak about these things.

'Normally, what I do is when it is done, we announce that.'

The 38 year-old also told the BBC that he 'more or less has his own ideas about the squad' in terms of who he will keep and who he release.

Sousa says the 32-man squad is too big, and this week he's looking to cut the numbers down to 24 or 25. Paulo also added that he'll be having talks with the players over the next few days to inform them of their future at Swansea City.

Who should get released this week?
