Sousa's Not Feeling The Pressure
Swansea City boss Paulo Sousa says he's not feeling any pressure ahead of the new season which starts on Saturday at Leicester City.
So far, the fans have been impressed and pleased with the 38 year-old and after a good pre-season, we're upbeat about this year's new Championship campaign.
|"so he should not feel the pressure, the fans will give him a season to settle in his style"|
Paulo Sousa told Wales Online that he's excited about the new season:
"I am excited,"
"But, from the moment I arrived in Swansea, I`ve been excited.
"And I am ready. I`ve been preparing myself for six, seven, eight years for this.
"I am a person with a lot of confidence in myself and, as a manager, I know what I want to do, what I want to give to the players, to the squad and to the club.
"But I do not feel pressure; I think there is a responsibility more than a pressure.
"And if there is pressure then it is completely different to what you experience as a player.
"Now you are more concerned about helping your players improve, giving them the opportunity to develop and about building a successful squad.
"As a player, you are more ego-centric.
"With Portugal, and the team we had then, there was hope, there was expectation and I guess you could say there was responsibility.
"But this is different. This is not me, this is us together.
The departure of previous boss Roberto Martinez left the fans deflated and we lacked confidence in our chances this year, but Paulo Sousa's arrival has restored that and we now look a decent bet for a respectful top 10 finish - Sousa's target this season.
