Swansea City Not Giving Up On Counago

Swansea City Not Giving Up On Counago

Paulo Sousa is still not giving up on trying to sign Ipswich Town striker Pablo Counago.

Swansea City had a fee agreed with the fellow Championship club for the Spaniard but the player rejected a move to South Wales.

Town manager Roy Keane has now urged Counago to fight for his place at the club. The player might change his mind and feel he has a better chance of first team football with the Swans.

Sousa is not giving up the chase for the 29 year-old, he told the Evening Post:

'I hope we will have a new striker in time for Leicester and Pablo Counago is one possibility.'

'Everything can be possible in football life, it can change very easily.'

Sousa also added that he's in talks about other striker targets if we fail again in our attempts to sign Counago, he told BBC Sport:

'We've talked with them [Southampton duo Marek Saganowski and Grzegorz Rasiak] and we've talked also with other players,'

'It can be both, it can be only one, it can be others.'

Which of the strikers linked to the club would you most like to see us sign?

We shouldn't need to try to convince these players to join, if they don't want to come, don't bother
