Swansea City Not Interested In Signing Trundle

Swansea City have rubbished reports linking striker Lee Trundle with a return to his former club.

Trundle was a huge fans' favourite during his time in South Wales before joining Bristol City in a £1m move.

The Sunday People were the only news source to report this and they believed that the Bristol City frontman was one of Paulo Sousa's striker targets.

The Swansea boss has failed in his attempts at bringing in Ipswich Town striker Pablo Counago, a fee was agreed but the 29 year-old rejected our offer. Also being linked to the Liberty Stadium is Southampton's Marek Saganowski as we continue our search for another forward.

Huw Jenkins ruled out a return for Lee Trundle and told Wales Online:

"I don`t know where that one came from, but we have not expressed an interest in Lee,"

"Pablo Counago was the only player we agreed a fee for. That deal is now dead as far as we are concerned. We have offered a good contract, but we respect that the player wants to stay at Ipswich.

"We are obviously disappointed, but Paulo has always said he has a number of options and targets. Pablo`s decision to turn down our offer means we will start to pursue other options.

"We are still looking and the manager and his staff continue to bring more players to the table. We will have talks, look at them and just see where we get to over the next few weeks."

Seems like a viable option to me. Get him in on loan or on a short term deal, for the right price he could prove a bargain, he'll lift the place and hopefully, with a point to prove at this level he'll hit the ground running.

It's going to happen, he's struggled at League One level at Leeds so why would we want him?
KevinE
Nonsense, g4anty... There's absolutely no point signing him.
