Thomas: Debut Goal Was Dream Come True

Casey Thomas said scoring on his senior debut in today's home friendly against FC Twente was a dream come true.

The 18 year-old came on as a late substitute and it didn't take him long to make an excellent impression.

Just a few minutes after coming on as a replacement for Orlandi, Thomas headed home Dyer's corner to give us the lead at 2-1.

Thomas heads home to put us 2-1 in front.

Then, in the final minute of the game, Thomas went on a surging run before being brought down in the box, he won a penalty which Gorka Pintado converted to score his second of the game.

Thomas told the official site:

'I had to react quickly to reach the ball first; it went down into the ground and fortunately bounced over the defender on the line and in,'

'And for the penalty I tried my best to get past him (Tiote) but he caught me and I went down.'

'I'm still only a youngster and I know that the work starts here.

'The manager told me before going on to keep my shape, stay confident and enjoy myself - and I can certainly say that I did do that.'

His feet are firmly on the ground admitting that the work starts now. Took his chance very well and this can only boost his confidence.
